The Cardenas Markets Inc. Scholarship Foundation announced today that it will donate $45,000.00 towards educational scholarships to assist economically disadvantaged students attending or planning to attend College of Southern Nevada (CSN). Cardenas will formally establish a new commitment with CSN in the state of Nevada. Similar partnerships are already in place with other local Community Colleges in communities near or in the service area of their stores in California. In a process of partnership development Cardenas Markets Inc. Scholarship Foundation established a revolving fund commitment with Mt. San Antonio College, Chaffey Community College, College of the Desert and Imperial Valley Community College a $15,000 scholarship fund that is renewed on a yearly basis for three consecutive years.
Students applying for the Cardenas Scholarship will be selected by the College of Southern Nevada and must meet the minimum requirements established by the foundation:
The Cardenas Scholarship Foundation has also made donations to several other educational efforts in the Inland Empire area such as The Esperanza Scholarship Foundation, The Inland Empire Scholarship Fund and Mexican American Grocers Association Scholarship, all organizations mentoring and assisting students reach their academic success.
