On September 9, 2009, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) in Washington, D.C. announced that the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce had been selected as regional winner for the 2009 USHCC Excellence in Leadership and Business Awards in the large chamber category.  

"This is an enormous honor and the second time in the last four years that the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce has been selected for this prestigious award," stated Otto Merida, president of the Latin Chamber.

This year's regional winners will be presented at the upcoming 30th Annual USHCC National Convention, Business Expo and Latina Summit in Denver, Colorado, scheduled for September 16 - 19th.

As a regional finalist, the Las Vegas Latin Chamber qualifies to win the national award in the large chamber category, which will be presented on Saturday, September 19, 2009, during the Awards Gala.
