My name is Norberto Madrigal born in Michoacán, Mexico. At the age of 1 year old I was brought to Las Vegas NV were my family settled and would build a foundation for me and my siblings to prosper. My father Manuel Madrigal had always encouraged me to build my knowledge so that I would never have to work as hard as he did in his early years. Although I would take my education very seriously I would always see how my father and mother would work long hours daily to provide for the entire family.
In 1988 my father decided it was time to start his own company and he formed Lunas construction cleanup. I was 10 years old at this time and my family had just taken a huge step forward in business, my father had always explained to me that we must always be united if we are to be successful in our industry.
23 years have passed and today I am proud to say that I was raised to challenge my self and others to be the best and make a difference. I am a principal and corporate officer for Lunas construction cleanup; we have raised the bar in the construction industry to turn waste into a viable product that the community can benefit from.
The Las Vegas market for recyclables has always been slow to create outlets for material that could be recycled so I decided to get a powerful group of entrepreneurs and begin programs that would turn into strong independent businesses. Tire recycling is a prime example of those businesses where we got together with legislature and banned the landfilling of waste tires. Today I have a recycling division that focuses on removing and recycling 3000 tires per day from the Las Vegas market. Wood recycling has also been another program that was formed with the Moapa tribe to create topsoil products and rejuvenate 5000 acres of unused farm land in Moapa NV. I have been blessed in a position were my strategic thinking is of value to the community, and will continue to be innovative to better my company and community.
On April 22,2011 Lunas construction made its mark in southern Nevada by opening up one of the first Material recovery facilities that would concentrate on recycling over 500 tons of construction and demolition waste per day. This facility would give us the efficiency to capture over 80% recyclables from the waste stream. Lunas has been recognized by numerous organizations including the Latin Chamber of Commerce for its efforts in standing out and being the fore front in our industry.
I have also opened up 3 additional companies that are extremely successful and running for 4 years. Norvic Demolition, Green Built development and Lunas waste tire recovery. I have been able to pierce through the government system and participate in projects that have ranged up to 1.2 million. Our references for these projects are Nellis air force base, Southern Nevada Housing Authority, Southern Nevada water district and many more. I over see all these companies that employee 135 people and operate over 70 pieces of vehicles and equipment daily.
On my personal time I enjoy participating in personal growth activities and recently was one of the founders for Seminarios Exito Personal Ahora. We concentrate on educating the Latin community and empowering them to set goals and create personal visions that will guide them to their dreams . This program is free for life to the students after they have paid for the first class that is a 3 day course. In addition I also take Tae Kwon Do 4 days per week and compete in tournaments. In 2008 I was 2nd place for nationals held in Idaho.
