Maximiliano Couvillier

Maximiliano D. Couvillier III (Max) is a shareholder with the Litigation Department at Lionel Sawyer & Collins. Max’s practice focuses on commercial disputes, corporate governance, shareholder disputes, labor/employment, real estate and construction matters. Max has also participated in significant appellate matters, representing some of the Nevada’s largest companies. In addition, Max counsels his clients in employment-based immigration matters.

Since moving to Las Vegas to join the Firm, Max has distinguished himself as an active member and leader in the community. In 2008, Max was recognized as one of the top “40 Under 40” business and community leaders in Southern Nevada by the leading business publication InBusiness Las Vegas. In 2002, Max participated in the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Focus Leadership program. In 2004, he was appointed to serve on the Clark County Public Defender Indigency Advisory Committee. Max was also awarded the prestigious Arturo Cambeiro Outstanding Hispanic of the Year for 2004 by the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of his leadership and contributions to the Southern Nevada Hispanic Community. Max's leadership was also recognized by Nevada Congressman Jon Porter, who invited him to attend the National Hispanic Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. in 2004.

Max's community involvement is not only very rewarding, but has also allowed him to expand his practice beyond traditional lawyer roles by advising his clients who wish to serve the flourishing Southern Nevada Hispanic Community.

While attending California Western School of Law in San Diego, Max served as a judicial extern to the Honorable James F. Stiven of the U.S. District Court for Southern California, and was a Summer Honors Associate for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.

Max was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, was raised in San Diego, California and is fluent in Spanish.
