Elizabeth Gallagher is a well-known business owner in the United States. She was born in Mexico City of multi-national parents; her mother from Mexico and her father, a screenwriter, from the United States. She was raised in two cultures, in two countries.
Raised in Nevada, her business career began in earnest in 1979 with Air Nevada when she came aboard as co-owner and marketing director. Under her direction, Air Nevada became one of the most sucessful commuter airlines in the world. Ms. Gallagher put together 47 offices world-wide. The 18 fleet part135 airline was sold in 1997 to a competetor that recognized the entitie’s value and market share. With her leadership and marketing experience a new company was created Gallagher Agency/ Gallagher Group International a Business Marketing and Public Relations Firm. As gaming expanded on a nation-wide basis, Ms. Gallagher’s talents followed on a national basis. She became the first female charter broker in the Eastern United States and the Gulf States, personally putting together charters for the Trump properties. Elizabeth worked with Mr. Donald Trump, MGM Properties and Harrah’s Entertainment, among others. As part of her on-going affiliation with the airline industry, Ms. Gallagher recognized the need for experienced charter pilots. As a result, she founded Condor Training & Aviation, a first officer training program with its own “simulator” in Las Vegas, Nevada. The program was immediately successful.
However, on September 11, 2001, the tragedy in New York changed all aspects of aviation, especially first officer training programs for the airline industry. Increased security requirements restricted aviation flight growth.
Ms. Gallagher then moved into the construction industry amidst the greatest explosion of construction in Las Vegas history. In 2001 she founded and became the President and CEO of SAVI Construction a new design/build company. Starting with a license of 2.5 million growing it to an unlimited license specializing in commercial building, healthcare, public works, industrial construction and renovations. As of 2010 Ms. Gallagher sold her 51.3% ownership to her partner, allowing her to focus on Gallagher Group International a firm who specializes in Public Relations and Marketing.
For the last 25 years she has dedicated time as an advocate for Hispanic Entrepreneurs. Estabilishing herself on a local, national and global level promoting the interests of Hispanic Owned businesses.
Her passion has been to develop, advance and promote Hispanic owned businesses, and to enhance their economic, social, political, educational, and cultural interest in the United States.
As Immediate past Vice-Chair of the USHCC and as a Latina Business Owner who has been responsible in all aspects of funding, financing, budgeting, personnel and management of each company she knows first hand how important it is to possess key business skills to build and grow a successful company. Having chosen to work in the aviation and construction industries among others, she knows what kinds of race – and gender – based challenges face Latina entrepreuners. Elizabeth made it her mission and has committed to represent Latinas in the marketplace.
