Edgar Patino joined NV Energy’s Corporate Communications team in 2001. His experience with the group included roles in media and community relations, internal and external communications, and market research. In his current role as the Manager of Local Government Affairs for NV Energy, he combines his corporate communications and public affairs experience to strengthen the company’s statewide effectiveness at the local political level, generating support and goodwill for company positions and policies. He and his team foster high visibility by developing and nurturing relationships and alliances with government, business, economic development, civic, and policy-making organizations related to the electric and gas industry. The team establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key local government officials and community leaders. In addition, his group also provides critical support for corporate efforts aimed at achieving NV Energy’s vision through new initiatives and activities directly impacting energy delivery and operations. Prior to joining NV Energy, he served seven years in the United States Air Force as a non-commissioned officer with tours in Southwest Asia, Europe and the United States.

Patino attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business management/marketing. Additionally, he completed the UNLV Executive MBA program in December 2008, with his practicum taking place in Hong Kong and Macau.

Patino is active in the Las Vegas community and holds member and leadership positions with several organizations. Most recently, he was elected to the Latin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is also a trustee for the College of Southern Nevada Foundation, whose goal is to promote and further the development of CSN college programs by raising, managing and disbursing private funds. Mr. Patino is a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Las Vegas Program (Class of 2006).

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Edgar grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He is married and enjoys experiencing new and exciting travel destinations with his wife and daughter. Additionally he enjoys snow skiing, mountain biking and golf.
