Antonio Muñoz

Mr. Antonio Muñoz is currently assigned to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recruitment section as a Police Officer. As a recruiter he's tasked with recruiting more Hispanic officers to join the police department.

Antonio has worked hard to develop strong contacts within the Hispanic Community, which serves as a linchpin for the majority of efforts to increase the numbers of Hispanics on the department. Antonio has great historical knowledge of the Las Vegas community, his knowledge of influential persons and businesses, as well as, his knowledge of recruitment practices.

Antonio was also influential in starting the first Hispanic American Resource Team at North East Area Command: To encourage interaction between Department members and the people of different cultures within the Hispanic community, leading to mutual understanding and respect; to build and maintain positive relationships between the Hispanic community and the police through compassion and innovative thinking. As with many of the LVMPD's community policing efforts, H.A.R.T. has fostered a partnership with local businesses and civic organizations in support of the program.

Mr. Muñoz is also currently the President of the National Latino Peace officers Association for the local Clark County chapter. His leadership and guidance has lifted the association from 60 members to over 130 members. Antonio and his organization works together with other non-profits, civic, and volunteer groups to improve quality of life issues and develop needed public services.

Mr. Muñoz has and is currently serving his country. Mr. was in the United States Air Force from 1995-2000. He served a tour of duty at Dover Air Force Base Delaware and Kadena Air Force Base, in Okinawa Japan. Since 2000 he has been serving as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve out of March Air Reserve Base in California. Antonio is currently a Crew Chief in the RAMP section which is vital to loading and unloading several thousand passengers and tons of cargo back and forth to support Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. 

Mr. Muñoz is the recipient of many prestigious award including the “Community Service Award” by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department; “Unit Exemplary Service Award” by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department; “Certificate of Commendation” United States Senator Harry Reid; “Airmen Of  The Year” United States Air Force; “Meritorious Service Medal” United States Air Force.

Mr. Muñoz is a single father of two young boys, Antonio (7) and Adali (5).
