
Alex Garza – Mr. Garza was born in St George, Utah in 1971. During the first 4 years of his life, he lived in Mesquite, NV while his father worked on a farm. The memory of this time has embedded itself as a powerful motivator in his life. His father would often counsel him that unless he wanted to wake up to the smell of manure everyday, he better get an education!
The Garza family soon relocated to Alamo, NV where they began construction of a novelty imports store. This was a powerful learning experience as the first building was built entirely by the family. The business very quickly expanded to include a gas station, grocery store, restaurant and a mechanics shop. The principle of hard work mixed with focus and goal setting was instilled from childhood.
Alex attended Pahranagat Valley High School in Alamo, Nevada. Alex was a high school athlete receiving numerous awards in Basketball, Track and Football. He was a member of Boy Scouts, The Future Farmers of America, the Yearbook and Drama club.
Alex moved to Las Vegas in 1992 to attend UNLV, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. He then went to work for the Clark County School District as a Special Education Teacher at Roy Martin Middle School. During this time, Alex obtained this real estate license. He began working for Century 21 in 1999 on a part time basis.
In 2003, He took a leap of faith and left the school district to start his own real estate company. Taking on a couple of partner, Alex opened up Advanced Real Estate Teams. That company grew extremely fast. In 2006, First American Title approached him to organize their Strategic Markets Division for the State of Nevada. Seeing the opportunity to teach again, he left his real estate brokerage and began a new career in the title insurance industry.
Throughout his life, Alex has been an active member of the community. He currently serves as the President for the Nevada Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Alex also serves as the Vice-President of Hispanics in Politics, He is a board member for the Si Se Puede Foundation. He is a CE certified instructor and travels throughout Nevada educating realtors on how to access the Latino market. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, as well as The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. He participates in the CCSD Paybac program. Alex has been recognized by both US Senators for his contributions and service to the Latino community.
